Painting the Ganesha
Category: Vintage India

On my way to Maidanahalli, just after the village of Puravara, I saw this bunch of Ganesha idols getting ready for the Ganesh Chaturthi and the man who made them doing the finishing touches:

The pic is taken with the Canon EF 400mm f/5.6L telephoto lens, handheld in Manual mode, with the settings of ISO-200, f/6.3 and 1/1000s. The lighting was a bit harsh and I could not get the man's face properly exposed.

Wishing a happy Ganesh Chaturthi to all!

And sometimes we are there only when the light is harsh or the day is grey. Still a good picture.

A great instant you have captured! The light reflection is totally different on those two surfaces! With that beautiful colour tone on that artist's skin, a little more light on his face would have made this totally a differnet image!
